Set on the edge of Yala's wilderness, Leopard Trails offers an intimate safari experience shaped by expert guiding, thoughtful exploration and a deeper understanding of Sri Lanka's wild landscapes.
Yala is a landscape best understood through patience, knowledge and careful observation. Leopard Trails brings travellers closer to this environment through a safari experience centred around expert guiding and a deep respect for the wilderness. Beyond the search for wildlife, the camp reveals the relationships between animals, habitats and the changing rhythms of the landscape, creating a more meaningful connection with Sri Lanka's wild south.
Days begin early as the wilderness slowly comes alive. Follow tracks through Yala with experienced naturalists, learn the stories behind animal behaviour and return to camp where conversations continue beneath open skies. The experience is as much about understanding nature as it is about seeing it.

We include Leopard Trails because it represents the art of safari rather than simply the act of wildlife viewing. Through knowledgeable guides, thoughtful interpretation and a strong connection to place, it offers travellers a richer understanding of Sri Lanka's wilderness and the ecosystems that make Yala extraordinary.

Leopard Trails sits at the edge of Yala National Park, close to Block 1 and its famous leopard density, near Tissamaharama in Sri Lanka's wild south. It is around five hours by road from Colombo, or a short domestic flight to Mattala in the south and a drive on to the park.
The camp is built for the safari. Game drives go out at first light and again in the cool of the afternoon, and the days are shaped by the naturalists and the wildlife rather than a schedule. Our designers arrange the private transfers, the drives and the camp's expert guiding team.
