Set between the dry forests of Yala and the Indian Ocean, Wild Coast Tented Lodge offers an immersive wilderness experience where architecture, wildlife and landscape exist in quiet harmony.
At the edge of Yala, where dry forest meets sand dunes and the Indian Ocean, Wild Coast Tented Lodge creates a rare connection between wilderness and coast. Its organic architecture takes inspiration from the surrounding landscape, allowing the lodge to sit naturally within an environment shaped by wildlife, weather and time. Here, the boundaries between design and nature are intentionally softened, creating a deeper relationship with one of Sri Lanka's most remarkable wild landscapes.
Days begin with the sounds of the wilderness before setting out across Yala's landscapes in search of wildlife and moments of quiet observation. Afternoons return to the rhythm of the coast, where ocean winds, open skies and the surrounding forest continue the experience beyond the safari.

We include Wild Coast Tented Lodge because it redefines the idea of a wilderness stay in Sri Lanka. Rather than standing apart from its environment, the lodge creates a thoughtful dialogue between architecture, conservation and nature, offering travellers a deeper understanding of the landscapes where forest, wildlife and ocean meet.

Wild Coast lies on the coast at the southern boundary of Yala, close to Tissamaharama and the entrance to the park's richest blocks. It is around five hours by road from Colombo, or a short domestic flight to Mattala in the south and a drive of about an hour to the lodge.
The setting is the reason to come. Yala and its leopards are on the doorstep, but so is the Indian Ocean, and the days move between the two, the forest and the game drives on one side, the dunes and the surf on the other. Our designers arrange the private transfers, the game drives and the naturalist team.
