Created on restored wetlands at the edge of Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle, Jetwing Vil Uyana offers an immersive stay where conservation, biodiversity and quiet luxury exist in natural balance.
What was once abandoned farmland has been transformed into a thriving mosaic of wetlands, forest, reed beds and paddy fields. Rather than adapting to an existing landscape, Jetwing Vil Uyana helped create one, allowing native habitats and wildlife to return over time. Today the property feels less like a resort and more like a living ecosystem, where every pathway, waterway and open space reflects a long-term commitment to restoration and coexistence with nature.
Mornings begin with birdsong carried across the wetlands before the landscape gradually reveals its rich diversity of life. Walk through distinct habitats, look for butterflies, reptiles and birdlife, or venture to the nearby ancient cities before returning to an environment where nature quietly shapes every moment.

We include Jetwing Vil Uyana because it demonstrates how thoughtful hospitality can actively restore a landscape rather than simply occupy it. The experience is rooted in conservation, biodiversity and a genuine connection to place, offering travellers a meaningful perspective on Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle beyond its celebrated archaeological treasures.

Vil Uyana lies just outside Sigiriya, in the heart of the Cultural Triangle. Sigiriya and the cave temples of Dambulla are minutes away, and the ancient cities of Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura, along with the wildlife of Minneriya, lie within easy reach.
Yet the wetland itself is reason enough to stay. Days out among the monuments give way to evenings inside a restored ecosystem, the birdlife settling and the loris moving through the trees after dark. Our designers arrange the private transfer and the naturalist-led trails, so the region opens without leaving the landscape behind.
